We got hands-on with the Verv at Farm House Tack to see how it stacks up. Here’s what you can expect from the fit system, safety certifications, ventilation, and the modular design that sets this helmet apart.

What makes the LeMieux Verv different?

The LeMieux Verv Competition Helmet is LeMieux’s first riding helmet, and it brings together a 360° dial-fit system, interchangeable peaks, swappable top panels, and serious ventilation in one package. We’re excited to share LeMieux didn’t just slap their logo on an existing design—they built something with features you don’t typically see combined in a single helmet.

The Verv carries ASTM F1163-23 and SEI certification for the U.S. market, plus BSI’s Kitemark to EN 1384:2023 certification. It comes in three size ranges: Small (52–55 cm), Medium (56–58 cm), and Large (59–61 cm). You can choose between gloss and matte finishes, and the interior liner is removable and washable.

What really stands out, though, is the modular design. You can swap peaks and top panels without tools, giving you flexibility across disciplines and letting you change the look without buying a whole new helmet.

How does the LeMieux Verv fit?

While the helmet is so new, meaning we’ve not had the chance to fit it across a lot of riders, our personal experience has been great. It’s comfortable with features to allow the rider to dial in the perfect fit for their head.

360° Fit Control Wheel system

The Verv uses a rear micro-adjustment dial that tightens the internal fit system around your entire head—not just the back. Most helmets adjust only at the rear, but the Verv’s 360° wraparound creates even pressure distribution all the way around.

Once the helmet is on, a few clicks of the fit control wheel fine-tune the fit. If you’re between sizes or your head shape doesn’t fit neatly into standard helmet molds, the fit control wheel helps you dial in (literally) a secure fit without uncomfortable pressure points.

Fine-tuning helmet depth

The fit control wheel handles circumference, but the Verv also includes removable 5 mm and 10 mm crown pads for adjusting helmet depth. Here’s how the fit system breaks down:

Safety’s not an afterthought for the LeMieux Verv

The Verv features a corrugated ABS twin-shell construction with a reinforced polycarbonate rim. The shell is designed to resist impact, penetration, and crushing. LeMieux tested the helmet both with and without the removable top panel installed, so you can configure it for different disciplines without compromising certified protection.

Does the LeMieux Verv have MIPS?

No. The LeMieux Verv does not use MIPS technology.

MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) is one approach to helmet design that addresses rotational forces during an impact. It’s a valid technology, but it’s not the only path to a safe helmet. The Verv’s 360° fit system and shell construction represent LeMieux’s approach to ensuring rider protection in this type of fall.

If MIPS is a priority for you, you’ll want to look at helmets specifically designed with that technology. That said, proper fit and current certification matter just as much as any single safety feature when choosing a riding helmet.

Ventilation is one of the first things you notice when you pick up the Verv. The helmet features internal airflow channels and what LeMieux calls a Coandă effect airflow system, which directs air across the head rather than just through isolated vents.

How to care for your LeMieux Verv helmet

Step 1: Wipe down the shell after each ride

Use a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, sweat, and arena grime from the shell. The UV- and abrasion-resistant coating protects the finish, but regular helmet cleaning keeps it looking sharp.

Step 2: Remove and wash the padding

The central padding and headband can be removed and machine washed at 30°C. Let everything air dry completely before reinstalling—putting damp padding back in can lead to odor and hygiene issues.

The Verv comes with a carry bag designed to protect against scratches during transport and storage. Keep the helmet away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture when not in use.
