We love this Shires Double Jointed Sweet Iron Pelham Bit because of the double joint and metal material. 

With a sweet iron mouthpiece designed to produce a sweet taste and encourage salivation as it oxidizes. The addition of copper ribs help to prevent the horse from taking to much contact, a good deterent for horses that tend to take hold. Pelham's work on the poll, corners, bars, tongue and chin groove. This is a stronger bit that will assist with control. The jointed mouthpiece works to prevent any nutcracker action.
