Favorite Breeches From Farm House Tack Staff!
Farm HouseWhen it comes to riding breeches, there are a lot of choices. Full seat or knee patch? High rise or mid rise? Traditional breeches or pull-on riding leggings? It can get overwhelming quickly.
Luckily, almost everyone on our team rides, shows or works alongside riders every day, so we have some strong opinions about what makes a pair worth reaching for. We ride in them, work in them, wash them and then reach for the same pairs again.
We asked the Farm House Tack team which breeches they are wearing on repeat in 2026. From flattering denim and breathable summer riding leggings to polished show-ring favorites, these are the pairs that earned a place on our list.

Goode Rider Knee Patch Jean Breech or Goode Rider Full Seat Jean Breech
My favorite is the Goode Rider Jean Breech. They have the look of a great pair of jeans, but the super-stretch denim makes them comfortable enough to ride in all day. The fit is flattering, the pockets are useful and, most importantly, they make everyone’s rear end look amazing! You can choose the knee patch or full seat version depending on how much grip you like in the saddle.

Cavallo Women’s Caline Grip Mobile Breech
The Cavallo Caline has enough compression to hold everything in without making me feel stuffed into them. I like the higher waist, and the waistband does not dig in when I sit in the saddle. There is no seam running across the knee, which sounds like a small thing until you have spent several hours in tall boots. The zippered phone pocket is useful, and the little bit of sparkle is cute without being too much.

My favorite is probably the Samshield Clara Premium Knee Grip Breeches combine comfort, style, and performance perfectly. The silicone knee grips provide excellent stability in the saddle, and the high-waisted design offers a flattering fit. RJ Classics Women’s Gracie Plus Mid Rise Knee Patch Breeches
As a plus-size rider, I struggle to find breeches that fit me well through the waist, thighs and calves. I love how much thought RJ Classics put into the Gracie Plus. They give me the room I need through my thighs without being too loose everywhere else, and the tummy-control panel is another plus. They are my go-to breeches for both training and showing. I chose the same pair last year, and honestly, my answer has not changed!

Equinavia Women’s Astrid Silicone Knee Patch Breeches
I love how soft the Equinavia Astrid breeches are. They are comfortable when the weather is warm, but they also have enough stretch that I can wear pantyhose underneath for extra warmth in the winter. That may sound like a little thing, but it means I do not need a completely different pair for every temperature. The mesh lower leg also keeps them from feeling bulky under my tall boots. They are just an easy pair to wear.

EGO7 Women’s Jumping CA Knee Patch Breech
The first thing I like about the EGO7 CA is the higher waist. It comes up enough in the front and back that I am not constantly pulling my breeches up. The fabric stretches well but does not get baggy after I have worn it for a few hours. There is also silicone inside the waistband to help keep a show shirt tucked in. If you have ever retucked your shirt ten times before going in the ring, you know why that matters.

Ariat Men’s Tri Factor Grip Knee Patch Breech
Men’s breeches can be tough because some fit through the waist but bunch at the calf, while others fit the leg and feel tight everywhere else. The Ariat Tri Factor moves well through the seat and waistband, and the calf fit system makes a difference under tall boots. The cooling and moisture-wicking fabric is a big plus on long, hot show days. They give me grip where I want it without making me feel glued to the saddle.

The RJ Classics Mason gets the basics right. They stretch, they dry quickly and the mesh lower leg does not bunch under tall boots. The silicone inside the waistband helps keep my shirt in place, so I am not constantly tucking it back in. They look traditional enough for the show ring but are comfortable enough for an ordinary schooling day. That is about all I need a pair of breeches to do.
Which Riding Breeches Are Right for You?
There is no single pair of breeches that works for every rider. We all have different bodies, saddles, weather and opinions about grip. The best pair is the one you are not adjusting every five minutes and do not dread pulling on before you ride.
