Breakout products of 2024
How do we even begin to sum up 2024? It was very demure, very mindful, and it was a wild ride. We also saw a LOT of innovative, flashy, and fashionable new equestrian products for both horse and rider, so maybe we’ll just start there. Here are a few of the breakout products that really caught our eye in 2024.
Favorite new equestrian apparel brands
We’ve welcomed some fabulous brands into our Farm House stable this year. Two of our favorite new brands we’ve introduced at our stores this year are For Horses and Kismet!
For Horses blew us away this year with their exquisite Italian craftsmanship and attention to detail. Seriously, the Rita breeches were one of the most lightweight, comfortable breeches we’ve ever tried on. And the horse pattern on the knee grip patches? Still thinking about it. So cute.
And of course, Kismet has opened our eyes to a whole new world of easy, breezy, beautiful show and schooling shirts. We love everything about the Kismet Alexa line from the lightweight Kismet Alexa Solid Turtleneck Schooling Shirts that are light enough to wear in any season to the ventilation provided by the Air and Airmax styles, offering small and larger mesh styles respectively. Kismet continues to innovate and we think you’ll join us in getting hyped for the new things they have coming our way in 2025!
Favorite new items from our old favorite equestrian brands
One of our most exciting celebrations this year took place when AP Hassinger finally started selling show shirts! We’ve been a huge fan of their breeches for years and always wished we had shirts to match. And the designs that came our way? They absolutely exceeded our expectations. The asymmetrical sheer sleeve is so fashionable and bold, no wonder it flew off the shelves. And if you happened to catch our recap of this year’s AETA tradeshow, you know that they’re just getting started.
We have also been living for the upgraded Samshield 2.0 versions of our favorite helmets! We love our Sammies around here so we were skeptical that somehow we could love the new versions more… But somehow they did it! These helmets fit stunningly, offer an increased brim for sun protection, and correspond with the new helmet liners for one stunning piece of safety gear. And if you love sparkle, you’re going to love the crystal helmets we saw at this year’s AETA tradeshow.
The Ariat Trizar Collection features some of the coolest tech we’ve seen in apparel this year! All the items feature a patented material initially developed for NASA. Trizar enhances thermal regulation by absorbing and redistributing body heat, keeping you warm without added bulk. Trizar fabrics also retain and reflect your body heat, eliminating the need for heavy layers. We can’t wait to rock the Trizar Collection on all of our cold-weather rides this winter.
And of course, we can’t mention Ariat without mentioning the absolutely stunning new Ravello Tall Boots that they introduced this year. These boots are a favorite of professional Grand Prix riders like Kelli Cruciotti-Vanderveen and offer that very same VIP feel to anyone who wears them. They have a contoured fit and higher cut topline in Italian calf leather. We love the elegant design, luxurious leather, and an impressively tailored fit to help you shine in the saddle.
And last, but of course not least, Tailored Sportsman brought the heat with their new take on their classic IceFil technology. They dazzled us with some truly stunning tank tops and tee shirt styles. And of course, new colors! As per usual, they’ve thought of a little something for everyone.
Favorite new items for horses
Ok, you probably know because we’ve mentioned it once or twice, but we started a podcast this year! Bit By Bit has hosted a fair amount of our equestrian shenanigans, but mostly, we’ve learned a lot about AJR Sports wide range of bits from our co-host, Adam Rittenberg.
And if you know Adam, you know that he’d approve our recommendation to try out one of his rubber block bits. Adam was one of the pioneers behind this design, which is great for horses with sensitive mouths or anatomical challenges like parrot mouth. Whatever your needs, there’s an AJR rubber block bit for you! And we just so happen to have podcast all about the different types of rubber block bits. Check it out! Allie, our podcast editor definitely thinks you should.
It’s hard to narrow down our favorite tack items from this year, but off the top of our heads, we’re really excited to be carrying some stunning new Antares Signature Saddles. We happened to unbox the first box of these luxurious French saddles and oh, what a treat. They are made of buttery smooth Argentinian leather built on the Connexion tree and designed for shock absorption. Plus the contrasting stitching lives in our heads rent free.
And a fun new gadget that was new to us was the eQuick eVysor. This both is exactly what it looks like (a giant pair of sunglasses for your horse) and it isn’t. It’s so much more! The eVysor offers superior UV protection from bright Sun Eye sensitivity and discomfort, Eye injury from Dust, Debris/ Branches and Wind while riding. It’s something that we saw making a huge difference for our riders at Tryon this year.
We’ve barely scratched the surface with this list. We have so many amazing items to explore on our website or at any or our stores. Plus, we might be biased, but we think we have some amazing new gifts for you to peruse that didn’t make the list. Leave us a comment with some new apparel or tack that blew you away in 2024! We can’t wait to see what’s coming our way next year.
