Welcome To Tryon Horse Country Hurricane Matthew Evacuees!

They started arriving yesterday, by the trailer full. Caravans of horse trailers coming up I26 heeding evacuation warnings for the South Carolina coastline.

The scene reminded me of the Noah's Ark story, 2 horse trailer by 2 horse trailer pulling into FENCE - Foothills Equestrian Nature Center. Disembarking on the hillside stabling of the Metcalf barn of the facility. Owners quickly bedded the stalls and unloaded their horses. Stringing buckets for water and grain, and setting up their stalls to make it has home like as possible.

Your friends at Farm House Tack are here if you need us. Please don't feel displaced, we would like everyone displaced by Hurricane Matthew to feel as at home as possible. We invite all evacuees that have relocated to our area to come by for refreshments, snacks, a hug if you need one or just some friendly conversation.  We are here to answer questions and try to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Need to find a pharmacy, brand of feed, type of hay, a people doctor or a vet? Let us know, we can help you find the right person, place or thing you are looking for.

Simply looking for some place to go that's not the barn or your hotel room? We are here for that too, come on by and sit a spell we are horse people and love to talk horses.
