We love this bit because the 2.5 Ring offers a good amount of control and leverage while the eggbutt cheekpiece decreases the chances of the lips being pinched.
The 2.5 ring eggbutt is a milder version of a 3 ring bit. Leverage can be created with this jaw piece. The lower the reins are placed, the tougher the bit becomes. An ideal bit for horses that are very strong on the course, grasp the bit, or walk through the hand. The eggbutt rings cannot move loose and therefore the help of the hand works more directly.
The french link mouthpiece is a double-jointed mouthpiece with a flat insert that exerts equal pressure on the tongue. This mouthpiece has two pivot points, is shaped more to the mouth, and is a bit looser in the mouth.
The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and stimulates the horse's saliva production naturally. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-gray.
**Due to the contagious nature of the equine disease EHV 1 and per biosecurity measure guidelines suggested by the American Association of Equine Practitioners, The Farm House will no longer accept any returns on bits and bit accessories.**
