We love this bit because the specially designed french link piece ensures an even distribution of pressure over the tongue. This helps the bit be extra comfortable in the horse's mouth.
This jaw piece has a D-shape. The D-rings ensure that the mouthpiece lies quietly and stably in the mouth. The pressure of the D against the cheek makes steering easier because the head is automatically pushed in the right direction. This makes the bit suitable for young horses. Due to the shape of this jaw piece, it is not as easy to pull the bit through the mouth.
The french link mouthpiece is a double-jointed mouthpiece with a flat insert that exerts equal pressure on the tongue. This mouthpiece has two pivot points, is shaped more to the mouth, and is a bit looser in the mouth.
The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and stimulates the horse's saliva production naturally. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-gray.
*Due to the contagious nature of the equine disease EHV 1 and per biosecurity measure guidelines suggested by the American Association of Equine Practitioners, The Farm House will no longer accept returns on bits and bit accessories.
