We love this bit because it is great for more quirky horses! The hackamore piece offers better control over stronger horses and the sweet iron Segundo mouthpiece lets you offer more precise controls while being softer in the mouth.

This jaw piece is a combination of a hackamore with a bit. The hackamore combination is a jaw piece with leverage and gives pressure on the nose, chin, and mouth. The longer the shanks of the hackamore, the stronger the effect. This combination with short shanks has a less sharp effect than the long hackamore combi. These bits are often used with very enthusiastic horses on the trail.

Due to the leverage, this is a fairly sharp bit and therefore not suitable for inexperienced riders.

The Wideport Segundo is a double-jointed mouthpiece with a port. Unlike the other mouthpieces with tongue arches, this mouthpiece can move freely creating some lateral flexibility. Because of the port, there is less pressure on the tongue, but it is distributed over the layers. There are sharper angles on the tongue arch, which creates extra pressure points on the tongue. Due to the movement of the tongue port, horses generally find it difficult to lean on this mouthpiece and throw the tongue over the bit.

The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and stimulates the horse's saliva production naturally. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-gray.
