The Farm House was started by Patricia Lehner in 1979 in the tack room of Flying Dutchman Farm in Tryon, N.C.. Local customers simply drove up and took what they needed from stock, writing down the item on an 'Honor Card". Pat Lehner quickly saw the need for a local resource to supply quality tack and equipment to the local community. It didn't take long for the tack room at the family farm to be over run with horse supplies and riding goods leaving little room for their own tack, let alone Dad's tools! So, the decision was made to purchase a local feed business as well as its retail location expanding the feed inventory to include to include the goods formerly housed at the family farm.
The Lehner Family was and still is, heavily involved in the fox hunting and horse show communities here in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The tack room at Flying Dutchmen quickly became the regions 'go to' source for area horse needs. 30 Years later, the main store currently occupies a 6000 square foot store front is located a short distance from I26 and I85. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains tucked between Tryon, N.C. and Landrum, S.C. we have become of a hub of activity for riders and enthusiasts alike. The retail location is packed to the gills with equipment, tack, apparel as far as the eye can see!
If the retail store and the website don’t have enough selection for you, we also have two mobile retail locations which travel the USHJA / USEF 'A" circuit in the South East. Each of our mobile units is 14,000 square foot retail store loaded with all your horse show favorites and forgottens! You'll see us at all the big hunter jumper shows in the south east! Currently traveling to shows in North and South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee meeting the needs of riders on the road with the brands and styles they need to make there show a success. Our reputation for friendly knowledgeable sales staff has given us a very loyal customer base. Many of our riders on the road call us for there needs from home as well.

In this industry it is SO important to get all the details. Plugging item numbers into a customers purchase order over the phone is just a small part of putting an order together.
